T-bars for gene regulatory network #391

Closed

Description

@pterzian

Hello,

I'm trying to use ggraph to build gene regulatory network.

Arrows are great to show activation of genes expression however for inactivation I was wondering if there is a way to plot T-bars (I couldn't find if it was an available asset) ? Right now I am using lines of different color than arrows (which does the job).

thank you for this nice library !

Paul

    Can you provide an example of what you're looking for?

    @teunbrand This gene regulatory network, for example, uses T-bars to show negative effect (it would be the inactivation of genes in my case.)

    So just arrows where the 'legs' are at an 90° angle?

    library(ggraph)
    #> Loading required package: ggplot2

    ggraph(head(highschool, 50)) +
      geom_edge_link(
        end_cap = circle(3, "mm"),
        arrow = arrow(angle = 90, length = unit(2, "mm"))
      ) +
      geom_node_point()
    #> Using "stress" as default layout

    I'm assuming the above is a sufficient solution and if not, this issue constitutes a particular case of #369.
