The model could miscount repeated symbols while explaining a failing test. In the reported movie-review case, the code contained ten stars but lacked the numeric rating after them. Socrates incorrectly claimed there were eleven or twelve stars and told the learner to change code that was already correct.
Socrates now computes counts of consecutive pictorial symbols in the student's source and includes those counts in the prompt. The helper uses Unicode character categories and grapheme clusters, so it works with mixed symbols and compound emoji. Updated instructions and contrasting examples guide the model to use those counts and identify which requirement actually failed when a test checks multiple conditions.
