SuiteCRM Docker

This repository contains the files required to build a docker image for SuiteCRM v7.

The resulting images are available as packages.

NOTE: The very first release (v7.15.1) was designed as a drop-in replacement to upgrade the last image deprecated by Bitnami (v7.14.6). The following releases may only support upgrade from the last one (e.g. v7.15.1 > v7.15.2).

Prerequisites

To build and use this image, you need the following:

  • Docker (engine or an equivallent):
    • docker CLI tool (tested with v29)
    • docker compose command or docker-compose CLI plugin (tested with v5.4)
  • At least 1GB of available vRAM, 2 vCPU and 5GB of free disk space (to start with)

Configuration

The environment variables described in the docker-compose.yml can be customized in .env.

For instance:

SUITECRM_DATABASE_NAME=my_suitecrm
SUITECRM_DATABASE_USER=my_suitecrm
SUITECRM_DATABASE_PASSWORD=my_secret
SUITECRM_HTTP_PORT=80                # Overwrite the default=8080
SUITECRM_LOG_ACCESS_MAX_NUM=1 # Effectively disabling the rotation in multiple files
SUITECRM_LOG_ACCESS_MAX_LEN=1M # The single log file will be overwritten when reaching 1M

Usage

Docker compose can be used to quickly run SuiteCRM with its main dependency (MariaDB).

Here are the most useful commands:

  • docker compose build: build the image for the first time or following changes.
    • use docker-compose for older versions
    • append suitecrm to only (re-)build this image (if there are more)
  • docker compose up: start the application and its depend services.
    • append -d to send in the background
    • append --env-file <your_env> after compose to load variables from elsewhere than .env
    • append -f docker-compose.yml -f .docker-compose.yml after compose to overwrite (e.g. volumes)
  • docker exec -it $(docker ps -q -l -f "name=.+[-_]suitecrm[-_].+") bash: enter an interactive shell inside the container.
    • replace suitecrm with mariadb to explore the database
    • replace bash with mysql --host mariadb -user ... to query the database

Credits

This repository was inspired from https://github.com/guercheLE/SuiteCRM which aim to build a docker image for SuiteCRM v8 (a.k.a. Core).
